The state television of Shirak region, “Shirak”, is transformed from a state close joint-stock company into a public TV company. As Yerevan Press Club was told by the Director of “Shirak” Avetis Melik-Sargsian, after the adoption of the RA Law “On Television and Radio”, abolishing state broadcasting, the indefinite status of the TV company was put an end to by Governmental Decision #1312 (December 29, 2001). According to this document, the state conferred its share in the company to the Council of Public TV and Radio Company that will be managing the TV station. Currently various organizational procedures are being implemented due to the change of “Shirak” status.
