The outgoing sessions are held by Media Ethics Observatory members in the regions of Armenia aiming to introduce regional media, NGO and local self-government representatives with the MEO mission, objectives and activities as well as current documents and self-regulation tools, including the procedure of applying to MEO with complaints regarding the violations of the Code of Ethics of Armenian Media and Journalists.
The events are organized within the framework of “Media for Informed Civic Engagement” project, carried out by Yerevan Press Club in partnership with Media Initiatives Center, supported by USAID.
The sessions are live-streamed on Ustream.tv and uploaded on YPC YouTube channel.

November 16, 2017 Outgoing Session in Vayk, Vayots Dzor Region
At Vayk InfoTun attended by the members of MEO. At the beginning of the session Mesrop Harutyunian, MEO Coordinator and media expert, shared with the representatives of media, NGOs, local self-government bodies of Vayots Dzor region the Self-Regulation Initiative in Armenia, the principles of the operation and activities of MEO. Afterwards, the MEO members held an open discussion and adopted the Guidelines on the Coverage of Elections and Referendums, as well as discussed the appeals presented by MEO to Consultative Commission to Confront Propaganda of Media Self-Regulatory Organizations Network.
October 16, 2017 Outgoing Session in Ijevan, Tavush Region
At Ijevan InfoTun attended by the members of MEO. At the beginning of the session Mesrop Harutyunian, MEO Coordinator and media expert, shared with the representatives of media, NGOs, local self-government bodies of Tavush region the Self-Regulation Initiative in Armenia, the principles of the operation and activities of MEO. Afterwards, the MEO members held an open discussion of the appeal of freelance journalist Tehmineh Yenokyan, who asked MEO to clarify, whether it is fair to accuse a journalist, if the video materials shot by him/her during public events are later used by law enforcement bodies for instituting a criminal case. Based on the discussion, MEO released its expert opinion on the issue.
January 30, 2017 Outgoing Session in Armavir, Armavir Region
At Armavir InfoTun attended by MEO members. At the beginning of the session Mesrop Harutyunian, MEO coordinator and media expert, introduced to the representatives of media, NGOs and local self-government bodies of Armavir region the process of establishment of self-regulation system in Armenia – from the first steps to the adoption of Code of Ethics of Armenian Media and Journalists. The principles of MEO operation and some of the latest MEO judgments were also presented. Afterwards, the MEO members held an open discussion and adopted the Guidelines on Conduct of Journalists and Media during Wars, Armed Confrontations and Internal Conflicts.

October 14, 2016 Outgoing Session in Goris, Syunik Region
At Goris InfoTun attended by the members of MEO. At the beginning of the session Mesrop Harutyunian, MEO Coordinator and media expert, shared with the representatives of media, NGOs, local self-government bodies of Syunik region the progress of Self-Regulation Initiative in Armenia, familiarized them with the principles of the operation and activities of MEO. Afterwards, the MEO members held an open discussion of the complaint of Gevorg Hayrapetyan on the piece “The Police of Aparan found the 20-year-old woman, whose fellow villagers thought she had been dragged away by a bear” published on Shamshyan.com. Based on the discussion, MEO released its opinion on the complaint.

All the three sessions in 2015 were devoted to the tools of self-regulation and the documents adopted this year by MEO – Social Media Guidelines for News Personnel and Guidelines for Armenian Media, Developed Based on the Delfi AS v. Estonia European Court of Human Rights Judgment.
