WORKSHOP ANNOUNCEMENT

The project on Georgian-Abkhaz Confidence Building with the participation of the Caucasus Forum of NGOs, financed by the European Union, announces a competition for young journalists from print media and print agencies for the participation in an all-Caucasian workshop with the topic “Journalistic Ethics in Conflict Situations”. The workshop will be held in Tzakhkadzor in Armenia in June 2001. The workshop is not a one time event but will be followed by several other events. The aim of the workshop is:

– To improving professional skills,

– to develop ethical standards for journalistic work,

– to activate the journalists contribution for the peace process.

Conditions for participation:

– Age between 20 and 25 years,

– not less than one year experience working as a journalist,

– good command of the Russian language (written and spoken),

– interest on the side of the participants in the ideas of peaceful conflict resolution.

We kindly ask those who would like to participate, to send in the following documents:

1. CV,

2. one or two publications,

3. a letter explaining, why you would like to participate in our workshop.
