JOURNALIST’S CAR ROBBED

On February 12, in Tpagrichneri street of Yerevan the car of journalist Julietta Amirkhanian, the author of “Judicial Channel” TV program and the leader of “Femida” NGO, was robbed. The robbers broke the windshield of the car parked in the yard of the house where Julietta Amirkhanian lives and stole 50,000 drams, three digital videotapes priced at about $60 each, and other belongings.

While one of the tapes contained a video recording of a court session (a piece prepared for the TV program), the journalist thinks the incident is not related to her professional activities. Ms. Amirkhanian mentioned that similar occurrences were not rare on the block.

The Interior Affair Department of Center and Nork-Marash communities of Yerevan has started an investigation on the robbery.
