On January 27 at “Congress” hotel in Yerevan the conference on “Media in Armenia: 2010 Reflections and Trends for the Future” was held. The event was hosted by Partnership for Open Society Initiative, OSCE Office in Yerevan and Council of Europe. Media, NGOs’ representatives, international OSCE and CoE experts discussed the legislative reforms process of 2010 and its consequences, the Armenian media situation for the previous year and the outlined trends. The reports of international and local experts pointed out the urgency of amending the broadcast legislation in short terms, emphasizing that digitalization cannot lead to reduction of TV channels.
