On April 16 the session of the Council of Public Television and Radio of Armenia was held. At the session the results of the competition for the position of Executive Director of the Public Television of Armenia were considered. The Council made the decision of appointing Armen Arzumanian the Executive Director of the PTA.
YPC Reference: Armen Arzumanian was born in 1973 in Yerevan. Mr. Arzumanian is a graduate of the Yerevan State Institute of National Economy. Since 1987 he worked in various print media of Armenia, was one of the founders of "…21…" weekly. In 1995-1996 Mr. Arzumanian was the Editor of "Art 13" TV company, in 1997 – the Executive Director of "Kaym" TV company. In 1997-1998 he was employed by the Press Service of the RA President. Since 1998 Mr. Arzumanian was in charge of "Haylour" TV news agency, the main newscast of the National Television of Armenia. Since January 2001 he was Acting Executive Director of the National Television of Armenia.
The Council of Public Television and Radio postponed the consideration of candidates for the position of the Executive Director of Public Radio of Armenia for a month, as the processes of liquidation of the National Radio of Armenia and registration of the Public Radio have not been completed yet.
