Public Meetings – June 29 (Vayots Dzor) and July 1 (Gegharkunik), July 6 (Armavir), July 8 (Tavush), July 10 (Shirak), July 13 (Syuniq) 2026, Armenia, public meetings. Organized by Yerevan Press Club in the frames of the “Beyond Yerevan. Fact-Based Media for Regional Communities” project, funded by New Democracy Fund (NDF), Denmark. The participants (Vayots Dzor – 27 in number; Gegharkunik – 25 in number; Armavir -13 in number; Tavush -18 in number; Shirak – 19 in number; Syuniq – 19 in number) were representatives of the local self-government bodies, civil society, and media of Armenia. Main issues discussed: disinformation in post-electoral Armenia; public/civic structures: the required factors for cooperation and consolidation; outcomes of monitoring of the parliamentary elections’ coverage; disinformation in post-electoral Armenia; fact-based journalism: principles and tools, basics of media literacy.
Media Self-regulation Initiative Meeting – June 26-28, 2026, Vayots Dzor, Armenia. The event was organized by Yerevan Press Club in the frames of “Initiative for Media Quality and Resilience: Next Chapter in Media Empowerment” project implemented by the Media Initiatives Center in collaboration with Yerevan Press Club, Media Diversity Institute – Armenia, and Committee to Protect Freedom of Expression, funded by the European Union. The participants (36 in number) included heads, representatives of the media and NGOs that joined the self-regulation initiative, and members of the Media Ethics Observatory (MEO). Main issues discussed: the MEO annual report; amendments to the Code of Ethics of Armenian Media and Journalists and MEO guidelines; issues related to organizing the Alliance of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE) annual conference in 2027 in Yerevan; ethical issues of the coverage of the recent National Assembly elections in Armenia; elections of the members of the MEO.
Media-Related Issues in the Context of the Parliamentary Elections in Armenia and Geopolitical Realities May 2-3, 2026, Yerevan, seminar. Organized by Yerevan Press Club in the frames of “Initiative for Media Quality and Resilience” project implemented by the Media Initiatives Center in collaboration with Yerevan Press Club, Media Diversity Institute – Armenia, and International Media Support, funded by the European Union. The participants (19 in number) were representatives of the expert community and media of Armenia. Main issues discussed: results of the meetings held in Gabala on April 10-12, 2026, as part of the “Peace Bridge” initiative; prospects of Europeanization of Armenia in the context of “Armenia-EU” and 8th European Political Community (EPC) Summit; pre-election political context and problems of the media; moderation of online hate speech: moderAItor tool and editorial policy.
